Matthew W. Davis (born May 8, 1978), also professionally known as Matt Davis, is an American actor who is known for his roles as Adam Hillman on the ABC comedy-drama What About Brian from 2006 to 2007 and Alaric Saltzman on The CW fantasy drama The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2012. In 2014, he returned as a series regular for the sixth season, he starred on the short-lived CW mystery and horror drama Cult as Jeff Sefton, and had a recurring role on the CBS police drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Sean Yeager.
Davis was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Woods Cross High School, and the University of Utah. He was briefly married to actress Leelee Sobieski in 2008.
Davis co-starred with Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001), as Warner Huntington III, who breaks up with Elle Woods (Witherspoon).
His notable film credits include Blue Crush (2002) with Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez, Tigerland (2000) with Colin Farrell and BloodRayne (2005) with Kristanna Loken.

Matt Davis (born October 3, 1979 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American stand up comedian. He is regularly featured on XM Radio's Comedy 150 and tours internationally.
Biography
Matt Davis first took the stage at age 17 at the Comedy Club Stardome in Birmingham, Alabama where he later served as the club's house emcee for a year and a half before taking to the road full-time. Davis has since logged headlining dates in some of the most respected clubs in the country including The Punchline, Funny Bone(s), The Stardome, and many others. He has appeared at The Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and Sketchfest in San Francisco.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Matt Davis attended graduate schools in Virginia and southern California before moving to San Francisco where he lived for 30 years. As a psychology professor and researcher at Dominican University of California, his areas of expertise included diverse topics such as natural disasters, cross-cultural norms and customs, media influences, and the psychology of travel. Matt conducted the first research studies of how residents living in close proximity to Italy’s two famous volcanoes, Vesuvius and Etna, perceive their risk from potential eruptions. He was an invited speaker at dozens of conferences and workshops across the U.S. and internationally and was a featured expert in two television documentaries: Could It Happen Here? (2006) and Alien Invasion: Are We Ready? (2011). An avid traveler, he has visited 35 countries, crossed the U.S. by car on over 50 road trips, and cumulatively, has spent over two years of his life in Italy and Hawaii.
