Kelly Monaco is an American model, actress and reality television contestant. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to an Italian-American family. As a young girl, she attended St. Joachim's Roman Catholic School in Philadelphia. She graduated from Pocono Mountain Sr. High in Swiftwater, PA 1994. Monaco grew up with a love of sports such as soccer, swimming, and track and worked as a lifeguard for several years while attending Northampton community college in Bethlehem, PA until she broke into modeling.
As a young adult, Kelly moved to Los Angeles with dreams to become an actress. Success was limited for several years. In 1999, she landed her first major role on the soap opera Port Charles playing the roles of Livvie Locke and Tess Ramsay. Kelly has been nominated twice for an acting Emmy, and she currently plays the role of Samantha McCall on the soap opera General Hospital.

An active athlete, Kelly Marie Monaco grew up on the East Coast, where she participated in soccer, swimming, track and softball, among other sports. After the last of five girls was born, her family decided to move from the bustling city of Philadelphia to the more peaceful environment of the Poconos. Monaco proudly states that she is a born competitor. In addition to athletics, she participated intensely in speech, debate and theater during high school. Monaco's television debut came in 1997, when she landed a recurring role on Baywatch (1989). She has since segued into the feature film world with roles in Idle Hands (1999), Mumford (1999) and BASEketball (1998). Raised in an Italian Catholic home, Monaco is very close with her family, especially her great-grandmother. She enjoys volunteering for children's charity events, as well as working with elders. She currently resides in West Hollywood, California.

Early life and education
Kelly Monaco was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,[2] to Albert "Al" and Carmina Monaco. She is the middle child[3] and has four sisters.[4] The family moved to the Poconos, where she attended Pocono Mountain High School and took her first acting classes.[5] After high school, she worked as a lifeguard at a local resort[5] and attended Northampton Community College for two years.[3]
