Biography

American businesswoman, a chic and attractive brunette known as the notorious "Hollywood Madam." She was convicted on 2 December 1994 on three counts of felony pandering for providing high priced call girls to undercover cops during their 1993 sting operation and given a sentence of three years prison. She was video-taped supplying prostitutes to agents posing as Japanese businessmen, boasting that she ran the most exclusive call-girl ring in town.

In 1994 she and her dad, pediatrician Paul Fleiss faced charges of depositing checks for prostitution services into his bank account and lying about their income on tax returns. She also faced state pandering and drug charges. She tested positive for drugs four times since 9 August 1994, violating the terms of her release from jail. On 19 September 1994, she was ordered to enter a drug treatment program.

Heidi Lynne Fleiss (born December 30, 1965)[1] is an American former madam. She ran an upscale prostitution ring based in Los Angeles and is often referred to as the "Hollywood Madam". Fleiss has also worked as a columnist and was a television personality regularly featured in the 1990s in American media.

Early life

Fleiss was born and raised in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. Her father, Paul M. Fleiss (1933–2014), was a pediatrician and her mother, Elissa (née Ash), was an elementary school teacher. Their marriage ended in divorce.[2] She has two brothers: Jesse (born in 1977), and Jason (born in 1968), who drowned at age 41 in 2009;[3] and three sisters: Amy, Kim, and Shana.[4][5]

Heidi was raised in a large family with three sisters and two brothers. She had a happy childhood and a good relationship with her parents and siblings.

According to Vicky Allan's article "Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam" Heidi's parents enjoyed nature and the family spent many summers hiking and camping throughout the United States. Heidi visited many historical sites, such as the Grand Canyon and the redwood forest, which impressed her. During one of the family trips they visited Hearst Castle in San Louis Obispo, California. Heidi suggested in her biography Pandering, that the extravagance of the castle captured her imagination and gave her a glimpse into the world of the rich and famous. It was a lifestyle she would be drawn into years later.
