KEVIN DAVIES PhD

I'm the Executive Editor of The CRISPR Journal, the founding editor of Nature Genetics and Bio-IT World; former Editor-in-Chief of Cell Press and publisher of C&EN.

In 2017, I won a Guggenheim Fellowship to write a new book on CRISPR and genome editing. EDITING HUMANITY: The CRISPR Revolution and the New Era in Genome Editing is published by Pegasus Books in the US. The book will also be published in China, Japan, South Korea, Italy and Russia.

I'm also the author of:

THE $1,000 GENOME(Free Press, 2010) -- the revolution in next-gen sequencing and personal genomics.

CRACKING THE GENOME (Free Press, 2001) -- published in the UK as THE SEQUENCE and translated into 15 languages;

BREAKTHROUGH (1995, with Michael White); the race to discover BRCA1.

I'm a co-author of DNA: The Story of the Genetics Revolution, with Jim Watson and Andrew Berry (2017, Knopf).

I served as technical consultant on the 2014 film Decoding Annie Parker. (I'm in the credits, right under Aaron Paul's guitar coach.)

English professional footballer (born 1977)

Kevin Cyril Davies (born 26 March 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker for Chesterfield, Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End. He managed Southport in the 2017–18 season, before his contract was terminated on 30 April 2018.

Davies originally made his name as a vital part of the Chesterfield team which reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1997. He left Chesterfield at the end of that season, having made 148 appearances for the club and joined Premier League club Southampton in May 1997. He only spent one season at Southampton, making 30 appearances, before he joined Premier League club Blackburn Rovers in a club-record £7.5 million deal. Once again, he spent a single season at the club, making 29 appearances, before rejoining Southampton in 1999. In his second spell at the club, he made 95 appearances, also spending part of 2002 on
