The holder of Undergraduate and Post Graduate degrees from McGill University and the University of Wisconsin in Engineering and Management, Sultan Ali Allana, is a career banking professional with over 30 years of experience in retail, corporate and investment banking. Sultan Ali Allana, who was born in Karachi into a Sindhi Family in 1959, is a successful Pakistani banker who is serving as the Chairman of Habib Bank Limited and as the director of the Agha Khan Fund for Economic Development. As far as his educational background is concerned, he obtained an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate diploma in Management from McGill University. Furthermore, he obtained an MS in Management Technology from the University of Wisconsin, USA. His banking journey started with Citibank in 1985 and went on to establish Global Securities in 1994, a joint venture with UBS AG. In the year 1999, he became the CEO of NDLC after acquiring its managerial stake. In 2000, he collaborated with the government of Pakistan on a structural reform initiative that allowed him to contribute to the establishment of Microfinance Banks in the country.
