Fagence Cooper received a BA in history from University of Oxford and spent 12 years as a curator of the Victorian collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum where she co-curated The Victorian Vision exhibition in 2001.
Dr Suzanne Fagence Cooper is an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the Department of the History of Art. Her research is focused on 19th and 20th Century British art.

As we look forward to the summer holidays, I thought I would share with you an extract from my essay on Jane Morris as the welcoming hostess: she and her husband William Morris encouraged visitors to their country houses in Kent and Oxfordshire. And they also gathered their friends for good food and creative conversations in their house in London. This is a short version of a paper I presented in April at a seminar in Sweden, as part of a wonderful 'Arts and Crafts' project supported by the Ax:son Johnson Foundation. Suzanne is a writer, broadcaster, lecturer and curator. She is currently Research Curator at York Art Gallery, for the 2019 exhibition, ‘Turner, Ruskin and the Storm Cloud. Suzanne spent 12 years at the V&A Museum, researching the Victorian collections. As an expert on 19^th and 20^th century British art, she is in demand as a lecturer for the Arts Society, and as an invited speaker for Cunard voyages. Dr. Suzanne Fagence Cooper was educated at Merton College, Oxford, Christie's Education and the Courtald Institute before becoming the Victoria & Albert Museum Research Fellow at Buckinghamshire New University in 1999. Her involvement with the V&A dates back to 1996, when she was appointed curator, and in 2001 she co-curated the V&A's major exhibition 'The Victorian Vision.'

Suzanne's published work includes the book Victorian Women (V&A Publications, 2001) and two essays for the book that supported the exhibition 'The Victorian Vision' in 2002.
