Founded in 1978 by Allamah Muhammad Abdul Latif Chowdhury (Saheb Qiblah Fultali رحمه الله(, Darul Hadis Latifiah has been a pillar of Islamic education in the UK for nearly half a century. Originally established as Madrasah-e-Darul Qirat Majidiah, the school was created to meet the growing need for Islamic education among the local Bangladeshi Muslim community. Its aim was to provide young people with a strong grounding in the Qur’an and Shariah, at a time when these opportunities were scarce in the UK.
The school began modestly, with classes held in a rented property on New Road, London. Through the generosity of the local Muslim community, enough funds were raised to secure a permanent location. In 1998, the school officially began operating as a secondary school at 46-48 Cannon Street Road, London. However, as the school grew and demand for its services increased, it became clear that a larger facility was necessary. In 2005, Darul Hadis Latifiah relocated to its current premises at 1 Cornwall Avenue, London, where it continues to thrive and serve the community.
